About
FrugalText exists for one reason: law school books cost too much, and we got tired of it. We are a Brooklyn-based shop that sells and rents law textbooks, and nothing else. No gen-ed chemistry books, no novels. Casebooks, study aids, outlines, and bar prep, priced for students who are already paying enough.
What We Do
We carry over 5,000 law titles across every 1L course and most upper-level subjects. Each book is available in clearly graded conditions, so you choose how much you want to spend.
- Rent for the semester. Pay a fraction of the purchase price, keep the book through finals, and ship it back with the free prepaid label we include.
- Buy outright. Used copies in honest, clearly described conditions. What the listing says is what arrives in the box.
- Sell your books back. Done with a casebook? Send us the ISBN and we will email a quote within 2 business days. Shipping is free and payouts go out by Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal.
How It Works
- Find your book. Search by ISBN, title, or author. Your syllabus has the ISBN; paste it in and you are done hunting.
- Pick your condition. Compare rental and purchase prices side by side, from Acceptable up to Brand New with eBook access.
- Return it free. At the end of the semester, print the prepaid label, drop the box at the carrier, done. No deposit needed.
Why Students Trust Us
We grade conditions the way we would want them graded: honestly. A book listed as Good arrives Good or better. Our rental terms are plain English, with a grace period after the semester deadline and no hidden fees.
Real people answer our email. Write to info@frugaltext.com and you will hear back within 2 business days, usually faster.
