Description
Transforming the Global Supply Chain: Cyber Warfare, Technology, and Politics Dennis Unkovic ISBN 9781641059954
The global supply chain is broken. While the COVID-19 pandemic brought these vulnerabilities into sharp focus, it was not the root cause of the collapse. Instead, four powerful forces—known as the MaxTrends™—are driving the profound transformations already underway. Transforming the Global Supply Chain examines these MaxTrends™ in depth: the rising threat of cyberattacks, the disruptive potential of 3D printing, the rapid adoption of robotics, and the increasing efforts by nations worldwide to shield their domestic economies from foreign competition.
Over the next five years, China is expected to bear the greatest impact of these shifts. Many companies have already begun relocating their supply chains to alternative regions, including Southeast Asia, India, and the Americas. U.S. companies that proactively respond to economic and geopolitical pressures by reshoring production and supply chains back to the United States are likely to gain a significant competitive advantage and achieve long-term success.
